I've been writing for print publications ever since I was in high school. Actually, I began writing "articles" when I was eight, forcing my family to listen to weekly recaps of the Chicago Bulls' games.
Formally, I began working for "The Chronicle" at Purdue University Calumet in Indiana in 2006 as a copy-editor and photographer. In the newspapers 25-years of existence I became one of the only female sports editors, and was able to travel with the women's basketball team and cover the fall of the men's team in the 2006-2007 season. I took over the entertainment editor position in 2007 and was fortunate enough to interview country music star Luke Bryan, the lead singer of Reliant K, and Alex Boylan, a previous winner of "The Amazing Race." I also fell in love with design, and began putting together the entertainment section of the paper.
In 2008 I started working for a small weekly newspaper, coincidently called "The Chronicle," out of Valparaiso, Indiana. I was the production manager taking care of the client advertisements and laying out the 20 to 24 page newspaper on a weekly basis. I also wrote for the paper - at one point being the only reporter.
Currently, I am a freelance writer and photographer, and am continuing to finish my schooling in the fields of visual communication and sociology.
